The continuation of Islington High Street, running parallel to Upper Street, merges into Camden Passage, a unique reminder of the Angel’s 18th century past. Today, Camden Passage is a quirky mix of antique dealers, designer jewellery (Ruberg), vintage and modern clothing shops (Annies, Frost French), restaurants and cafes (The Breakfast Club, Elk in the Woods, Macondo, Med Kitchen), furniture and homewares (Raft, Lombok) as well as a host of ‘one-offs’ (Paul Young Chocolates, Penhaligons, Ki Mantra and Laura J Londo, to mention but a few).
Every Wednesday and Saturday, the Passage is transformed into a market passage with market stalls selling bric-a-brac, vintage clothing and books at the junction with Charlton Street and at the northern end near the Camden Head. Pierrepoint Arcade is open most days of the week and is a magnet for those seeking memorabilia and antiques.
