New Crime Statistics for the Angel BID Area

We have agreed a new crime reporting format with the Angel Police team which focuses on the number of arrests and also shows the number of engagements with businesses.

Crime statistics for the last three months show a slight rise in the arrest rate compared with the previous three month period, namely:

January 2009 28
February 2009 25
March 2009 34

The above arrests were mainly for shoplifting and indicate that the Angel Police Team is having a significant impact on retail crime for our members.

Over the same three month period, the team made a total of 521 visits to our members’ premises.
