Dispersal Order Extended

Many of our BID members will be aware that a Dispersal Order has been in place at the Angel since June. The geographical area being covered includes the N1 centre and surrounding streets including Cross Street, Islington Green, Culpeper Gardens, Chapel Market, Penton Street and Old Royal Free Square. The Order enables the police to break up known gangs of youths who are engaging in antisocial activities, particularly robbery offences against other young people.


The extension of the Order is considered necessary in light of an increase in gang-related activity in the area since the end of the school holidays. On behalf of our members we offer our support to the police for making the Angel a safer location to work and shop at.
